prague: part 1

ivy and i said our sad farewells to our family and little esther and made the long (only semi-hellacious) trip back to london where we met kevin (we were sooo excited to see him!!!) and then all flew together to prague! kevin has a fall break this week so we're making the most of it. and it's been a wonderful distraction from the sadness of leaving houston.

we arrived last night and basically ordered room service and went to bed! ivy and i slept in til 10, went to breakfast and then went back to bed at 11:30. haha. we finally got up and going around 3 and it was a beautiful day! this city is so cool. we strolled around the corner to the Old Town Square and had a great afternoon & evening. we tried some local foods, saw the local talent and had a great dinner at a pizzeria recommended by our concierge. yum. and since we requested a non-smoking table, we had a whole room to ourselves - ha!

the famous astronomical clock (see k and ives?)

we happened to walk by an old, beautiful church and the doors were open with signs saying there was a concert that night at 5PM. it was 4:45, so kevin offered to buy me a ticket (with his awesome student discount) and watch ivy for an hour so i could go! it was so neat. the inside of st. nicholas church was unbelievable with the biggest chandelier i've ever seen. the program was beautiful - i recognized only two of the eight pieces, but so enjoyed listening to it all. what a treat!!

ps - strolling on cobblestones is a workout!!
